From Failure to Success: Journey to Passing the NCLEX-RN

Filled with nervous anticipation, I entered the testing center, ready to tackle the NCLEX-RN exam. As a nurse from the Philippines and an ER Technician, I have dedicated countless hours to mastering every aspect of patient care and medical knowledge by studying and following all the steps the review center had given. I also had a front-row seat in witnessing practical bedside care in the emergency room. However, despite my unwavering effort, I had failed this exam twice before.

But I refused to let my past failures dictate my future. I devised a new strategy, renewed my focus, and was determined to succeed this time. Passing this exam was the key to unlocking my dream career as a registered nurse, and I was determined to do whatever it takes to achieve it.

As I sat down at the computer to begin the exam, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. I was prepared for this moment, both mentally and academically. I wrote on the whiteboard given the two letters RN next to my name. The questions presented were indeed challenging, but I approached each one with confidence and precision, calling upon all my knowledge and experience.

I steadily worked through the exam, taking pride in every question I answered. I prayed for the high-level questions. I prayed for the difficult questions. The hours passed, but my conviction never wavered. Finally, as the test came to a close, I clicked the last button with both relief and anticipation.

On that same day, I received the news I had been waiting for. The NCLEX-RN exam results were out, and I had passed! It was an indescribable feeling of elation and accomplishment. I had successfully overcome my past failures and had achieved my lifelong dream of becoming a US registered nurse.

Reflecting on my journey, I realize it was far from easy. It was filled with moments of struggle, doubt, and fear. But through sheer hard work, determination, and perseverance, I was able to turn my failures into success.

To anyone who may be facing a difficult challenge or setback, I urge you to never give up. Believe in yourself, stay committed to your goals, and never let failure define you. With hard work and determination, anything is possible.
